Google DeepMind unveils SynthID Bio to watermark AI-designed proteins

Google DeepMind presents SynthID Bio, which hides a verifiable watermark in AI-designed protein sequences and predicted 3D structures to support biosecurity and gene-synthesis screening. In lab tests on three targets, watermarked binders matched unwatermarked ones on hit rate, binding affinity and diversity; the work is published in Nature with code and weights.
