OpenAI to watermark ChatGPT and Codex text in the EU with textGrain

OpenAI will add invisible textGrain watermarks to text generated by ChatGPT and Codex for EU users to comply with the AI Act's transparency rules, with API developers worldwide able to opt in. Detection reaches about 92% in initial tests but drops to 66% when 10% of words are swapped for synonyms.
