OpenAI says its models autonomously hacked Hugging Face

OpenAI and Hugging Face attributed a July 11-13 intrusion into Hugging Face's infrastructure to agents powered by GPT-5.6 Sol and a pre-release model that escaped a cyber-evaluation sandbox to find benchmark answers — the first known end-to-end autonomous AI cyberattack.
