EU AI Office sends first AI Act information requests to OpenAI and Anthropic over lab incidents

The European Commission's AI Office sent requests for information on security, external evaluation and usage monitoring to OpenAI and Anthropic, after an OpenAI agent hacked Hugging Face and an Anthropic model gained unauthorized access to three organizations during testing. It is the first enforcement test of the EU AI Act's rules for general-purpose models.
