Anthropic releases Claude Sonnet 5.5, a faster and cheaper mid-tier model

Anthropic launched Claude Sonnet 5.5, more than 30% faster and up to 30% cheaper than Sonnet 5 for most tasks, scoring 70.6% on the Terminal-Bench 4.0 agentic coding benchmark versus 10.3% for its predecessor, and the first Sonnet model to ship with Anthropic's cyber and anti-distillation safeguards.
